Latest in Beauty: the £1.50 beauty box

Say hello to this little beauty box. The cheaper, hassle-free and in my opinion the most customisable version of the beauty boxes that have popped up everywhere in the past year or so.
Before I moved out of the UK, I was subscribed to the Glossy Box and Jolie Box (previously Boudoir Prive) and thought it was always hit or miss in terms of the product.

So coming back to this little beauty, the service is run by a company called Latest in Beauty and their basic concept is 'try before you buy' and they run a number of different boxes/samples. So how is this little box different from the bigger boxes? You can choose the products you want sent to you.
I filled in a detailed form which was all about my skin type/tone, hair type/colour, age etc and was given 9 choices to choose from in total. These choices were based on the answers to my questions.
Just one more thing before I move on: The payment has to be made through your phone via text.

So about 2 days later, this is what came in the post. A very thin, red box that fit right through the letterbox:
Top: The box (with my name/address label peeled off) Bottom: all the samples

The following are the samples I ordered:
1. Elemental Herbology Skincare Trial Kit: This has three samples: cleanser, moisturiser (hydrator) and a radiance peel masque. I thought this would be a good one to try mainly because it claims to be mostly natural.

2. Super by Dr.Nicholas Perricone Bright Eyed eye cream: I have been on the hunt for a good eye cream (currently using Dermalogica) and thought I would give this a go. They sent two sachets of these which is great because you can only see the effect of eye creams when used for a longer period of time.

3. Dr Organic Rose Otto Skin Lotion: Because I am a body lotion junkie and have lots of small bottles and samples that I try all the time!

I do want to try these and do a review if I like them. Let me know in the comments below which one of these you want to know more about or want to see reviewed.

First Joliebox UK Overview

Hey everyone! I got this month's JolieBox (previously Boudoir Prive) in the post today. Since I have been a Boudoir Prive subscriber for the past couple of months, I was already subscribed when JolieBox arrived in the UK this month!
I was definitely excited to see what this French company brought into the equation and what more it added to the existing boxes.

So first things first, it was a beautiful and elegant black box (from the previous pink one that is pretty much the same as the GlossyBox).
It was packaged in a monogrammed tissue paper and a pink ribbon.
Beautiful packaging over all.
First impressions: LOTS of stuff and specially lots of different TYPES of products. Variety is always good!

Yon-Ka Vital Defense:
This is essentially an anti ageing cream but also says 'anti pollution and antioxidant' in the description. I don't previously own any anti-ageing creams but I think starting with a sample is a good idea. (I have previously received anti ageing creams in other boxes and stil haven't used them).

OPI Shatter Nail Laquer in Gold (Full size)
I haven't swatched this yet but definitely excited as this will be my first ever shatter nailpolish. Although this trend is a bit overdone in my opinion, I just did not get around to buying one.

Jane Iredale 24-Karat Gold Dust in the shade Rose Gold (Full size)
This is a multipurpose shimmer powder (swatch at the end of this post). The swatchedcolour reminded me alot of NARS Orgasm but in a powdery form since it also has gold shimmer in it.
Really excited to use this as a blush.

Mitchell and Peach shower wash
Sadly, this looks and smells of the free stuff you get from hotels. I'd rather have preferred a body scrub instead. I will probably be using this while travelling.

New Cid Cosmetics i-gloss (Full size)
Gloss. Mirror. Light. This is definitely one of the most exciting products in the box. The rosy nude colour is great for daytime as well as night time looks if you are not looking to use really bright shades.
One of the favs in the box for sure AND it's full size!

Kusmi detox tea
I love the variety of this box and really excited to try this tea since it is green tea with lemon: one of my favs!) Love the packaging as well and I think I might be using the box for small earrings or rings later on!
JolieBox Concealer brush
This is a very soft synthetic brush produced by Joliebox themselves. Will be trying this though I am not sure how well it will blend the concealer but ofcourse it is worth a try.

Special offers from Kusmi Tea and Wish, want wear.

The whole range!

Swatches.
1. Gold dust
2. Lip Gloss

Over all I really enjoyed this box, looking forward to using most of the products and I have to say once again, I LOVE the box, perfect for storing makeup or jewellery while travelling.
